The annual Hospitality Investment Conference Africa (HICA) will take place from 4-6 November 2009 at the Sandton Sun hotel in Johannesburg and will also be the scene for the third Hospitality Investment Awards. 
The second Karoo conference, focusing on Creative Tourism in the Karoo, will take place at De Stijl Hotel Gariep Dam on 5-6 November 2009. Its challenge is to develop and market a signature "Karoo brand,” as a key desert tourism destination in the world. 
The Leopard Rock Golf Resort in the Eastern Highlands of Zimbabwe, operated by Lonrho Hotels, won stand awards at both the Innsider Lifestyle Expo and the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority's Sanganai Hlanganai Expo in Harare in October. 
Peermont's Mmabatho Palms Hotel, Casino and Convention Resort is bringing Theuns Jordaan to Mafikeng for a concert on Friday, 30 October 2009 at the Mmabatho Convention Centre (MCC) in Mmabatho.
