Turning point for Rafa

Liverpool coach Rafa Benitez believes that the 2-0 victory this Sunday past over bitter rivals Manchester United will be the turning point for the Merseyside Reds.
The win ended a bad-luck run (if you could call it that) in the Barclays Premier league. Liverpool are six points behind log leaders Chelsea, but better six points than 10 if they had lost on Sunday. Most importantly, the win over Manchester eases the scrutiny that Rafa was under by the board and the fans.

Benitez deserves some form of credit for holding the team together, even after four consecutive defeats; they pulled off a stunner on Sunday. The midfield defence of Mascherano, Lucas and Fabio Aurellio was impeccable, with Kuyt, and Benayoun supporting Torres in attack. Torres scoring the first goal in the second half and the youngster David Ngog scoring in the 90th minute

"Hopefully this will be a turning point. If we can keep the momentum I am sure we have a good team and can win some games in a row.”

Next, Liverpool will face Arsenal in the Carling Cup and The Gunners have been on form thus far in the Barclays League. Hopefully, by that time Aquillani and Gerrard will be fully fit to sort out the stability in the midfield, which always seems to change.

A win against Arsenal and a couple more after will definitely put Rafa in good standing with the board.
"We needed to perform against a good team in front of our fans.”
