The Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) will host Global Icons Expo-Tainment Experience, which will include 32 nations under one roof in over 10 000m² exhibition space for 32 days in June and July 2010. To date this is reputed to be the highest investment from a single booking that the CTICC has secured since its opening. 
“The Magic of Bubbles” Cap Classique and Champagne Festival in Franschhoek will take place on the weekend of the 4-6 December 2009. Sponsored by Investec Private Bank, visitors will get the opportunity to sample both Champagne and Cap Classique wines. 
Ambiente, reputedly the largest consumer goods trade fair in the world, which takes place in Frankfurt Germany from 12-16 February 2010, will feature 14 Western Cape crafters. The craft products, ranging from jewellery and textiles to leather and metalwork, will be displayed on the Department of Trade and Industry's (dti) South African pavilion in the Gift and Loft Showcase areas of Ambiente. 
Exhibition Management Services, organisers of Africa's Big Seven (AB7), is launching DrinkTech Africa, a dedicated exhibition and conference designed to service the continent's growing beverage and liquid food markets, the company announced last week. The inaugural DrinkTech will run alongside AB7 2010. 
The final leg of the 2009 Mercedes-Benz Award for South African fashion design (clothing) exhibition was opened Dr Hansgeorg Niefer, president and CEO of Mercedes-Benz South Africa (MBSA) at its Century City branch on 29 October 2009. “It is not hard to see the link between art, fashion and cars. All three demand a high degree of craftsmanship, talent and design and all three capture our emotions in a remarkable way,” he said.
