Raymond Edwards, GM Liquor, for Tops at Spar was inducted into The Keepers of the Quaich as well as the Commanderie Du Bontemps this year. Edwards is only one of about 25 people in South Africa who has earned the title of Keeper and one of just three people in South Africa who has earned such the Commanderie du Bontemps. 
Sunglass Hut, the international sunglass retail division of Milan and New York's listed Luxottica Group, has partnered with Edgars to roll out a store-within-store concept to 22 of Edgars top stores nationwide. 
Ranging from beautifully crafted cage leather platforms to bejewelled satin peep-toes, the Luella David Tlale shoe collection will be available in stores at the beginning of December 2009. Keeping true to the DT signature, these shoes have a daring element to them and each item is uniquely crafted and styled to perfection with a keen attention to detail.

The eighth Tops at Spar/Country Cellars and Oranjerivier Wine Cellars Wine Competition took place in Upington on 26 October 2009. Winemakers from Oranjerivier's five wineries at Upington, Keimoes, Groblershoop, Grootdrink and Kakamas, each enter specific wines for judging by a panel of experts.
